Thank You For Reading Detention

Thank You For Reading Detention

.

.Detention Valin SyrcenThis story was first told on a school trip, in a desperate attempt to keep a restless class from overwhelming their teachers and parents. Each child (real names not included) explained their worst fears, and in accordance to the rules of narrative causality, had an entire chapter dedicated to facing them.

Except Davie.

Davie’s a full grown man. Davie has a phobia of moths and a friend who likes to write stories and troll him.

If you liked what you read and want to support this site, probably because you’re not Davie, the completed draft of Detention is available below in eBook form.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the next story.

Apologies to everyone who waited two years for the next story to begin. My right knee tendon snapped and I was laid up on potent painkillers for a year. In the months after, as the brain fog cleared, I was able to do the final edits to Upturned and publish it between relearning how to walk. Consider giving Upturned a read if you haven’t already. It’s a different perspective on the apocalypse. And a big thank you to everyone who came back.

Edit: as of 19/05/2025, it has been almost three years of recovery, but I can walk again, run (with a comical limp) and can even jump a whopping eight inches! It’s a far cry from my days of parkour and hiking, but it doesn’t stop me writing (although the toddler might) so I hope you enjoy this next tale, the first part in a new trilogy.
